I know enough about SEO to probably be wrong about a lot of it. I could probably write a series of articles on SEO tactics I have learned over the years but as I am not an expert I’ll point you in the right direction to some good articles on the subject.
Great article here. I’ve been running my healthcare blog for a few months and have just recently started to spend more time on it (learning wordpress, marketing strategies, etc). I’m noway near earning anything from it yet but with effort and time, hope to establish myself as a leading pharmacy blogger.
Now, I had a question. I am just 14 years old and I am entering the blog-o-sphere as an intermediate. Now, you may check my blog “theartofvk(dot)com.” I write how to articles mostly and also try to do videos as I am not a native English speaker it get’s difficult for me. When I read post on BBT I find it really interesting but How To articles… umm.. are they nice enough? How To article probably don’t keep people engaging do they? I am recently also trying guest post and on my 5 attempt my article was accepted at Hongkiat.
#18 – By Regina – $16,382 in January of 2015 – I think I read that Regina no longer publishes income reports, but older ones on her site are very detailed. She earns the bulk of her money from her own products (courses, eBooks, physical planners, live seminars) and some affiliate income.
OK – the first four steps of starting a blog, creating content, finding readers and building engagement with those readers are important foundations that you really do need to get in place before you’ll be able to build long term income for your blog.
That was such an inspiration to read. I can’t believe it took you five years to make your first dollar. Very few people would have that kind of perseverance and stick it through. You deserve all the success.
My favorite part about this app is that it’s not always brand specific, like a lot of coupons are. So you’ll be able to scan “any brand of bread” for 50 cents off, etc. If you do coupon – you can STILL use Ibotta and get a rebate. For the diehard couponers out there, this will often result in getting an item for FREE. Crazy, right?
From there, I went to work for other big blogs for a few years, helping grow Copyblogger and KISSmetrics into what they are today. Eventually though, I felt the itch to go out on my own again, so I left and started this blog. It now turns a fairly steady $100,000+ a month.
With dropshipping, you create the store, manage the website, and customer service. But a dropshipping service will take your orders and ship them out to your customers. They’re an invisible third party that your customers don’t even know about.
Selling services first and then creating a product is an amazing idea which I never read before. I can enumerate several others from your post but don’t want to repeat all the points you mentioned. It will be just like the reproduction of whole post.
This is another favorite income stream of mine. My first digital product was my ebook Tell Your Time: How to Manage Your Schedule So You Can Live Free which still sells every month. Another digital product of mine is the Knowtbook, a form of premium content.
Within a month, I had On Moneymaking off the ground, and within two months, it was getting 2,000 visitors a day and Performancing nominated it for the best business/money blog of the year. A couple of months after that, Brian Clark asked me to become the Associate Editor of Copyblogger, and so I sold On Moneymaking for five figures and went to work at one of the most popular blogs at the world.

I am lumping all this together because contractually I can’t disclose how much money I am being paid for some of these projects. But this bucket of blog income includes signing a contract for my book, speaking, private coaching, course sales, and freelance writing gigs. For 2018, I expect this number to grow since I am planning to speak more, release at least two more courses, and take on a few more coaching clients.
I had never considered the value of giving webinars. I had attended plenty of webinars and purchased some products based on same. It hadn’t occurred to me the economic value of giving webinars prior to reading your post.
Whenever I see somebody’s traffic and income report, I feel very happy by seeing the opportunities bloggers have to earn money from online when it comes to implementing same strategies in my blog may not work for me.

Took Shoutmeloud years to make over $20,000 a month in revenue on a constant basis and Harsh does not used Adesene ever on his main blog… yet he makes under $500 a month with Google AdSense on his other blogs. He focus on affiliate marketing, sponsored reviews and direct ad sales for income. Less ads on the blog helps a lot in regards to revenue.
#16 – The Busy Budgeter – $12,484 in March of 2016 – This is another income report from Rosemarie. Her income is mostly split down the middle between affiliates and ad networks, with some income from sponsored posts.

These tips are awesome. Your guide for 0 to $100k is great and contains lots of great deals. All these points are pretty important for bloggers to start his journey as a professional blogger. And you are right most of the world thinks bloggers are fools? But we are fools for changing the world.
Hi Jamie, the article is very helpful. I have a question though…I searched several niches on Google Trends. they all show between 75 to 100 searches. That makes it difficult for me to choose. I blog about many things within the lifestyle category. Do I really need to pick a niche? My goal is to be a social media influencer. I’m a practising artist though.

As I write this, I am getting ready to fly to New York to be interviewed on ABC Nightline which gets like 1.5 million viewers (freaking out a little bit). Next, I added a few affiliate links based on products I used. I was comfortable telling someone about a book I read, a blog theme I installed myself and a product I used in the blogging world or real life in some of my blog posts.
As long as you add the copyright to the bottom of your blog (like in the footer) you should be good to go for protecting your content on your site. With that being said, I know some businesses and bloggers do have tiny watermarks on their logos to protect them, so it’s up to you!

The most interesting and surprising lesson was the one where you mentioned that spending a lot of time on social media outlets doesn’t really help. I also specifically liked how you set the tone about the fact that you’re not just a blogger and that you’re an expert…etc. This is some confidence needed to be successful in anything.
I have a lot of great ideas, but most of them are just thoughts and theories, and it seems that no one would want to read about, even pay for, ideas in which I am not a complete expert on. My greatest talent, perhaps, is being a prolific writer. Otherwise, I’m more of a Cliff Craven I know a lot about some things, and some about a lot of things. How does THIS make MONEY??
