I’ll keep looking, but since your husband is now full time in this blogging business, are there any posts from him specifically? Talking about the experience from his perspective? As a husband and father, I would love to hear what he has to say. 🙂
This is a great resource, and a very complete list! By far, the most difficult aspect of blogging can be getting traffic. I about pulled my hair out trying to figure out wordpress, but finding readers was even more of a challenge. Consistency, patience and good content pays off in the end. Thanks!
Thanks for a great post. I have printed it out as I always like to read my inspirational stuff again and again. I am thinking of teaching a creative writing course to senior school kids, because in my country(South Africa) job opportunities are scarce and education expensive. I want to teach young people that you can create your own opportunities through writing and growing to be an expert in a chosen field. This way they will also improve their confidence in approaching opportunities when it do arise and with the right attitude. I am a real estate professional and writes a blog on aspects which I have noticed my clients are ignorant about. My readership has risen through the year and all my sales last year came from readers of my blog. Thanks again for the information you present so well and with a sense of humour. I still cannot afford one of your courses but I read every one and apply all that I learn. Praise be to Your Royal Awesomeness!
Thanks Sam. I split it between index funds, AMZN stock, and saving for another property in the next few years (location TBD!). I like being on TV and it’s led to a lot of new opportunities. It’s also helping me get the message out to a much broader group of people who don’t read blogs. After I’m on TV I get emails that are like “Hey I never thought about saving more than 10% of my income!” I’m all about meeting people where they are. Sure, it’s definitely a personality trait – I think you either like it or you don’t. I really dig the energy of being on TV. It’s fun.
Framework covers a wide variety of topics while Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers is focused on affiliate marketing. Many of the Framework videos are WordPress focused. If you decide on Framework I recommend you purchase the eBook first to understand the big concepts and strategies. You always have the option of upgrading to the video tutorials and interviews later. Hope this helps!
That’s one hell of a promise. Just to put a dollar value on it, you could probably sell a blog with 10,000 subscribers for at least $100,000 in most markets. So, I was essentially promising them $100,000 of value in exchange for only $10,000.
This is such a great resource with all these reports in one place. I do my report a bit differently – since I’m still small I report on what’s working and what I’ve learned – along with details about growth. I’ve been so encouraged by others who share! http://www.balancingmotherhood.com/tag/blog-traffic-report/
Plain and simply brilliant. So many bloggers including myself have made leaps toward creating more and more content in the beginning, when in fact many top bloggers spend most of their time diving through other sources to generate that traffic, that moves to leads, and eventually profits. Great post.
As long as you add the copyright to the bottom of your blog (like in the footer) you should be good to go for protecting your content on your site. With that being said, I know some businesses and bloggers do have tiny watermarks on their logos to protect them, so it’s up to you!
I signed my first direct brand partnership with Fannie Mae in late 2017 to help bust the myths of homeownership. I also sold 14 SEO clients directly from the website (or more specifically, this one post on the best SEO tips and this Rockstar Finance thread on SEO). Of those 14, four of them were very profitable SEO engagements. In 2017, I also had the opportunity to help four of the top 20 finance bloggers in the world with SEO issues, so I was both able to add some value and peek under the hood of some really successful money blogs (win-win). Finally, two finance companies also hired me for consulting gigs that took very little of my time but were a lot of fun. In total, I have really scaled back my consulting work and plan to only work with a few brands and other bloggers in 2018, not because I’m not interested, but because it takes so much of my time. Stay tuned for an SEO for bloggers course dropping soon.
As for the income reports I took a break from doing it because life got really busy and I wasnt seeing any big progress. Im still averaging anywhere from $250 to $600 per month just from the blog. Ill probably start doing the income reports again really soon.
If you have not yet created a blog but want to, check this easy step by step guide on how to create a blog in just minutes. You too can make money blogging. This however is not a get rich quick scheme or anything of the like. It is very difficult to make money blogging and it takes so much time, experience and effort to accomplish this. I know because in the short time I have been blogging, I have barely made any money at all from it and I’ve poured my heart and soul into Cash Flow Diaries. I’m still trying to learn from others how to properly make money blogging and in the mean time, I will continue logging my journey to financial freedom and trying to help others get there.
Thank you so much, Jamie, for this valuable information! My blog is currently in it’s infancy stage and with all the research I’ve done to date, your site has given me the most informative information to help me succeed. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise!
#13 – L Bee and the Moneytree – $7400 in April of 2016 – Lauren earns much of her blogging income from affiliates and sponsored campaigns. She also includes her staff writing income in this total, which is almost $3,000.
My affiliates sources are small, but pretty diversified. As a new blogger, I am starting off slow with affiliate links. I am still learning how to use them, how I can write about them in my blog posts and how to make sure my recommendations help other people!
Again great post man, another little top for people who’re thinking of paid advertising. Always make sure your ad is between posts or in article itself. Do not ever buy top or side ads, people are blind to them. Nobody clicks them.
Below is a list of all the bloggers I found who are actively recording their monthly blog income reports. The number next to the link is the amount of money made in the last recorded month. I will update this list every month with new figures and remove/add bloggers as needed. If you would like to be added to this list, shoot me a message.
This article has gotten my mind churning and working in so many new and exciting ways. Thank you for sharing your insights! You deserve all the success you’ve been having on your blog. I can’t wait to start putting these tips into REAL practice (not the “wow-I-feel-so-inspired-for-20-minutes-and-do-nothing kind of practice I so often fall victim to).
Consider hosting your own blog. If you purchase your own domain name, you will need to pay a hosting service monthly or annual fees to keep your website available. The advantage is greater customization, greater control over how to monetize your blog, and direct access to information on blog traffic for analysis.
Great information all in one place. I am new to blogging and having a blast. Deciding on a niche was a bitch. I am interested in so many things that I had to follow all of them until I found my groove. It’s a big problem not settling in one niche. At the moment I am in two niches and celebrating the focus.
Hello Jon, Wow now this article is right on cue, All 20 lesson’s Rock! I got so much out of this one, oh yeh 2 pages of notes HEHE Yes I do take notes, I can ‘t remember all of these goodies after I leave. I think it is a great idea, why not they just may come in handy right.
The basic WordPress.com account is free, but it will have WordPress.com ads and branding. You can upgrade to their Personal plan for $2.99/month (billed yearly) to remove WordPress.com logo and advertising from your website, and get a custom domain (such as www.yoursite.com).
Connections definitely matter, but I don’t think meeting the right people is a matter of luck. When I was a beginner, I made a list of all the people I wanted to know, and I mapped out a strategy for building a relationship with each of them. It’s no coincidence that, years later, all of them are friends. I made sure of it.
If your blog is aimed around professional readers and business people you might have more potential traffic from LinkedIn and Google+. If your target reader is more visual it might make more sense to focus exclusively on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram for promoting your blog.
This is one of the best things I’ve read on the internet when it comes to the whole “make money online” space. Honest, transparent, but also motivating. Love what you’re doing and how you prioritize helping others. Glad you’re making a good buck to do all the work you do. Can’t wait to see what 2018 holds. -Rich
This list accelerates me to make more efforts in the online world. I think you made this commission through the affiliate sale. Patflynn is the kind of income reports. He always inspires other bloggers to make money online. I would keep engaged with this post to know more about income reports.
Perhaps the most popular network for placing these types of ads is Google AdSense. With this program, you do not need to be in direct contact with advertisers; you simply place the banner on your site, Google chooses ads relevant to your content, and your viewers click on the ads. There are countless similar programs available if you find that AdSense doesn’t work for you, such as Chitika, Infolinks, and Media.net.
Many blogs post funny videos and images around a certain topic. Fail Blog is a famous example, posting examples of mishaps, misspellings, and other “stupid” actions. It makes its money primarily through advertising, and now sells a highly successful book as well.
Unlike other “make money online” articles, this is a comprehensive guide on how to make money at home legitimately, using blogging and WordPress. Many of these methods require some investment of time and/or money to get started. As long as you’re willing to put in the effort, you’ll reap the reward.
I started publishing my reports here – just recapped 2015 and plan to make monthly reports going forward. https://www.earnmoneyblogging.net/affiliate-marketing-income-reports-amazon-affiliate-earnings-for-2015-graphic/
Bill hit upon an interesting point (although I disagree with how he expressed it…) Jon, you’re a phenomenal writer, but would you say it’s phenomenal writing alone that got you to where you are today, or your connections with well-known blogs, or both?
This is the best aggregator list I have seen so far! I started blogging recently and have just hit $273.95 in net income. I know it is nothing compared to the blogging greats, but could you kindly add me to the list as well?
Allen… you can embed links within your blog articles which lead to further information about the topic you are writing about.. If you have an affiliate program, a book on Amazon or whatever you can then earn while still enjoying your passion of writing.
In the end, that’s what I love most about blogging: every article we publish, every course we create, every coaching call we do can change somebody’s life. Maybe not always in a big way, but we touch thousands upon thousands of people, and we make their lives just a little bit better. We inform them, we inspire them, and we give them the roadmap for achieving their dreams.
With WordPress, creating a paid job board is easy. See our tutorial on how to create a job board in WordPress with WP Job Manager for a step-by-step walkthrough. You can use the WooCommerce Paid Listings addon to charge for job post submissions.
OK, I’m going to show my age…a couple of decades ago, the public relations profession was in trouble and thoroughly misunderstood. As a profession, it lacked luster. So, the pros (me among them, though I was a cub then:) worked on a national public relations campaign for public relations. It worked. Public relations became recognized as a true profession, though there were and still are nitwits that don’t get it.
Many bloggers create and sell their own digital products. Digital products are great because they don’t require inventory and can be distributed to quickly and easily. There’s no overhead and low risk. Examples of digital products bloggers create:

People who start to blog always thing of making money which tends them toward failure. In my opinion bloggers should choose the topic which interests them. They don’t think about making money. It’s about knowledge, try to learn more and don’t think about money stuff. There are many top blog topics to make money online but you can get success only with the topic you like to write on. Try to choose your topic for the blog. Making money is very easy, don’t think about it much.
