This is a really interesting post Jon. What you’ve listed here are the “tools of the trade” so to speak. Every type of business has a list of things specific to that business that must happen in order for their to be income produced. If that list isn’t followed, then you have a hobby, not a business.

It’s up to every reader to pick and choose. Jon, a question which not many bloggers answer easily, you did it nicely. That question is “how long will it take?”

Now is the Time to Take Control of Your Financial Future. Hi Alex! I’ve been reading your posts about all of these success stories, I have decided to follow my own dreams of becoming a personal finance blogger! I’ve been so terrified of following my own dream due to potential failure but with all of these success stories (like yours) I did it! I created my blog the other day! I saw the above post about side hustles and it inspired me to write about my successful side hustle experience after I got laid off from my job (and was living paycheck to paycheck…scary!) I made a $1000 in a week with this side hustle.
Speaking – Many bloggers find speaking gigs as a result of the platforms they build on their blogs. I just read the part on your post where you said you worked 40 – 50 hours a week in the past during your rocky road blogging beginnings. Does this mean you possibly had a small sleeping cot next to your computer or bed nearby taking small naps while you churned out content throughout the day when you were off from your day job? That part about your beginning blogging career was interesting to read because I keep my bed next to my computer along with a speech recognition program installed on my computer, so I can use the power of my voice to create content instead of typing everything. This way, I reduce instances of getting carpal tunnel syndrome in my fingers.
I’ll be using cash accounting – What you’ll see is the total amount that was actually paid into my accounts that month. In many cases, I earned the money much earlier–every ad or affiliate partner I work with has their own payout schedule so money shows up in my account at strange times. I will do my best to explain this wherever possible.
If you can’t afford a designer, at least consider paying to have someone design your header and connect your hosting and domain name on WordPress. I promise it is worth the bit of money that it will cost — and it will save you a great deal of hair-pulling.
Because it’s a long list I’ve put it on its own page. Many of the tools I use I’ve mentioned in this guide. Thanks – I’m not taking on any clients right now though :)

Listen to Jon. -People are not that tech savvy, don’t know how to leverage their skillset online. Jon, honestly I never thought the ‘passive income’ takes that long when I started in the 2014. I also have the delusion of the ‘get on get rich’. After six months with no dime accredited to my account I learnt the journey to first dollar is far more than I thought.
Have you dipped your toes into the passive income waters? How much work did you have to put in? How much do you still have to do to keep it afloat? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the subject in the comments below.
Hey Rob, But now that our own blogs are starting to see some real success, I’ve noticed myself becoming even more jaded with the “make money blogging” world.

silly boy As a blogger, you’re already writing, so creating a print or eBook may be a natural extension of the work you’re already doing. Use the Welcome Mat (or a Lead Magnet) for all your highest-traffic pages. In essence, this strategy is about laying all your best offers on a single, full-page CTA to make it enticing enough for a reader to convert. It was this strategy that helped Robbie add over 4.8k subscribers to his email list.
If someone who is not a fit wants to buy your product, let them know and direct them to another product, even if it’s from a competitor, if you think that it’s a better fit. Establishing this sort of trust is vital. They won’t see you as someone who just wants to get sales ASAP, but as someone, they can trust to point them in the right direction.
There is regulation in place by the Federal Trade Commission (the FTC) requiring bloggers to disclose any time they feature affiliates or promote a product. So, it’s not deceptive, it’s right there in front of your audience.
